Perfect Wings
The education of children with exceptionalities in Catholic schools requires acceptance, belonging, and community with open hearts and open minds. Perfect Wings is designed to support schools in maximizing the God given gifts and talents of all students enrolled in our schools.
Guiding Questions to determine levels of support:
- What do you want students to learn?
- We set goals and expectations.
- How will you know when they are learning it?
- We utilize formative and summative assessments.
- How will we respond when they do not learn it?
- We reteach and provide different levels interventions &support.
- How will we respond when they already know it?
- We provide extensions, more in depth content and/or have students research and apply it to the real-world.
Here at St. Patrick we support each student within the classroom, based upon their specific needs, by providing minor adjustments and multi-leveled tiers of support to meet their learning needs. As the needs of the student increases, the intensity of the interventions and support increases. We closely monitor through our student intervention team, set goals, and assist each child in growing and learning.
Grading Scale
Grades are only one of the many ways teachers communicate academic progress of students. Students are graded on mastery of skills and outcomes as demonstrated through formative and summative assessments, participation, projects and activities. The grading scale used by St. Patrick is consistent with Archdiocesan policy.
